Get Ready for the Next Tribesman Triathlon!
After two unforgettable years back in action, the Tribesman Triathlon returns to Galway on Sunday, June 14th, 2026.
The 2025 event was a huge success, with over 400 athletes taking on the challenge through the heart of Galway. From the River Corrib swim to the fast bike course and scenic University of Galway run, the atmosphere was incredible.
For 2026, we are changing things up again with a new transition location, an updated swim route, a brand-new run route, and a new finish area with more space for athletes, clubs, and spectators. We are proud to announce that the Tribesman Triathlon has once again been selected as part of the Triathlon Ireland National Series and will also host the Intervarsity National Championships for 2026.
Tribesman Sprint Triathlon
Take on one of Ireland’s best sprint-distance triathlons:
- Swim: 750 m in the River Corrib, starting opposite Menlo Castle, with a short upstream section before turning downstream towards transition.
- Bike: A flat, fast, out-and-back route along the Moycullen bypass.
- Run: A brand new single-direction run route through the University of Galway campus and along the Corrib.
For 2026, athletes can expect:
- A new transition area in the University of Galway Park and Ride
- An updated swim start from the jetty opposite Menlo Castle
- A new single-direction run route with no dual-flow runner sections
- A new finish area with more space for spectators and club gazebos
